Ajinkya Rahane received his Test Cap today morning from Harbhajan Singh, just before the start of India Vs Australia 4th and final Test Match at Feroz Shah Kotla, New Delhi ground. Ajinkya Rahane is coming in place of Shikhar Dhawan, who injured his finger while fielding in 3rd Test match. Harbhajan Singh presented the Indian cap to Ajinkya Rahane while other players welcomed him with loud cheer and clappings. Proud moment for any youngster. It is a sense of achievement of all the hard work & patience you have put in to represent your country at the highest level.

Neeta Ambani owned Mumbai Indians (MI) announced Ricky Pointing as the Caption who will lead in IPL 6 which starts from April 3. Ricky Pointing will take over as captain, replacing Harbhajan Singh. Ricky Pointing retired from International in 2012 was bought for $400,000 during the player auction. Mumbai Indians announced the appointed of Ricky Ponting has captain through press media. Mumbai Indians' new mentor Anil Kumble and coach John Wright decided to go ahead with Ponting, amid speculation of Sachin Tendulkar being re-appointed as captain.

Virat Kohli, the dashing Indian batsman, bagged the International Cricketer of the Year award. Virat Kohli was chosen amoung the likes of Australian captain Michael Clarke, former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara and South African Hashim Amla to clinch the honour. Kohli was not able to make it to the glittering function. "He is a special player. One of the best batsmen and fielder in the world cricket. He should be groomed as the next T20 captain of the Indian team. He is the right choice for the position," said Akram of Kohli.

Sachin Tendulkar has retired from ODI cricket. Tendulkar finishes an illustrious career in the 50-over format, having played 463 ODIs, scored 18,426 runs and made 49 centuries, each of them a world record. His last ODI was against Pakistan in Dhaka during the Asia Cup, where he made a half-century in India's victory.

Sourav Ganguly will not be seen in IPL 6. After the debacle of IPL 5, he decided not to be part of IPL 6. He was part of Pune Warriors Team. Sourav Ganguly quit international cricket nearly four years ago, but continued to play IPL and domestic cricket. In the mean time he has cemented his place as expert cricket commentator and has been active in BCCI activities too. Sourav Ganguly is considered to be India's most successful captain - Tests as well as ODIs. He took charge as captain of Indian team at a time when Match fixings destroyed many players.

Anil Kumble will succeed West Indies' Clive Lloyd as the Chairman of ICC Cricket Committee. Anil Kumble is the second Indian to head ICC Cricket Committee, Sunil Gavaskar was the first Indian. "In Anil Kumble, we have a new chairman who has unquestioned experience not only as a player with India but also as an administrator with Karnataka [ Images ] State Cricket Association as well," announced ICC President Alan Isaac in a statement after the Executive Board meeting in Colombo.
