Nagaland State Museum

The State Museum in Kohima showcases a rare collection of articles of different tribes, which refer to the history, and traditions of the Nagas.

Located in the heart of Kohima, the emporium sells a variety of Naga art and handicraft items.

Zoological Park

The zoo in Kohima has some rare species of animals and birds, including the rare Blythe\'s Tragopan.

Khonoma

Embedded in stories of bravery and gallantry, is the village of Khonoma (10 km from Kohima). The Khonoma gate sings the tragedy of British infiltration into Naga Hills.

Dzukou Valley

The Dzukou Valley lies to the south of Kohima at a distance of 30 km and at an attitude of 2438 m. Nature seems to be in her best mood, smiling, as shown by the tons of fully bloomed flowers including Lilies (white and yellow). This is one of the best trekking spots in the northeastern region.

Japfu Peak

An ideal place for trekking and scaling Japfu is located at an altitude of 3,048 m above sea level and it provides a fabulous views of Kohima.

Mokokchung and Zunheboto, located 160 and 150 kms respectively from Kohima, are picturesque towns, worth a visit. Mokokchung is a major cultural centre of the Ao Nagas.

Dimapur

Dimapur is a major commercial centre of Nagaland. Housing the only airport in the state, it is connected with the neighbouring states by National Highway No. 39. The residual works of the ancient Kachari Kingdom is seen at the heart of the city. Just 5 km away on the Dimapur-Kohima Road is Ruzaphema, where number of bazaars offering splendid tribal handicrafts.

Shilloi Lake

The Shilloi lake or Lachem lake lies on the foot of the hills running along the Myanmar border in Phek district of Nagaland.

Mount Totsu

Situated at an altitude of 1250 m, it is in the district of Wokha, which is 80 km form Kohima. It is an ideal place for rock climbing.

Liphanyan Governor\'s Camp

Located at a distance of 43 km from Dimapur, this place with the river Doyang flowing nearby is an ideal spot for rafting, angling, and picnics.

Satoi Range

One of the only few remaining virgin forests left in the Zunheboto districts, it is a place of immaculate beauty. This place is the natural habitat of the Blythe\'s Tragopan, a rare bird on the verge of extinction. With evergreen forests of rare varieties all over the hills, it is an ideal place for outdoor camping and trekking.
