Ashwin also created history by becoming the bowler with the most wickets in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He currently shares the title with Australian spinner Nathan Lyon, with both having taken 113 wickets in the series.

Ashwin’s remarkable performance in the fourth Test against Australia in Ahmedabad helped India get back into the game. He took crucial wickets at important moments, including the partnership between Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green, which was broken by Ashwin’s excellent bowling.

In the same match, Ashwin also took six wickets in Australia’s first innings, helping to bowl them out for 480 runs. He further demonstrated his skills by dismissing Murphy and taking a total of five wickets.
