The sequel to the successful movie, Dream Girl 2, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, has displayed a strong performance at the domestic box office on its second day of release. The film raked in ₹14 crore on Saturday, surpassing the earnings of Gadar 2 on the same day, which marked its 16th day since release. The film featuring Sunny Deol had accumulated ₹12.5 crore on its third Saturday, according to early estimates.

Box Office Triumph for Dream Girl 2

As disclosed by, Dream Girl 2 garnered ₹10.69 crore on Friday, and its collections soared to ₹14 crore, based on preliminary assessments. The cumulative box office collection for the first two days of the movie stands at ₹24.69 crore. The film registered a Hindi occupancy rate of 41.40 percent on Saturday.

Insight into Dream Girl 2

Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, Dream Girl 2 serves as a sequel to Ayushmann’s hit film of 2019 bearing the same title. In this movie, the actor reprises his role as Karam, who adopts the persona of Pooja, a cross-dressing character, to generate the funds required for marrying his beloved, portrayed by Ananya Panday.

Dream Girl 2 also showcases a talented ensemble cast including Paresh Rawal, Annu Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Vijay Raaz, Asrani, Abhishek Banerjee, Manjot Singh, and Seema Pahwa. The movie is produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures.

Ayushmann’s Take on Dream Girl 2

According to a press statement by the creators, the film has marked Ayushmann’s “biggest opener to date,” surpassing the opening day earnings of his 2019 movie Bala, which had amassed ₹10.15 crore. Ayushmann expressed his delight over the impressive commencement of Dream Girl 2 at the domestic box office.

“It’s an incredible feeling to achieve the best opening of my career with Dream Girl 2. The Dream Girl franchise has been showered with love, and I am genuinely thrilled by the phenomenal start Dream Girl 2 has enjoyed at the box office,” Ayushmann conveyed in a statement quoted by the news agency PTI.

“As a performer, it’s incredibly gratifying to draw audiences to cinemas and witness them having an enjoyable time. Dream Girl 2 offers abundant entertainment. It boasts the promise of delivering hearty laughter, and I am delighted that the film has lived up to these expectations and commenced on a solid note at the box office,” he further added.
