Prabhas’ upcoming film, previously titled ‘Project K’, is now called ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. The film’s teaser was unveiled at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) in the US. Directed by Nag Ashwin, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ features a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, and others. ‘RRR’ director SS Rajamouli re-shared the film’s teaser on Twitter and lauded the makers. He also had a special message for Prabhas, who had worked with him in the Baahubali films.


The teaser of Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ was unveiled on July 21. The video provided a glimpse into the film’s intriguing plot entangled in a dystopian future, battling against dark forces. The film’s newly released teaser has generated significant buzz among fans and followers. And now, celebrated filmmaker SS Rajamouli reacted to the same.

Taking to Twitter, Rajamouli wrote, “Great job Nagi and Vyjayanthi movies. Creating an authentic futuristic movie is such a difficult task and you guys made it possible..Darling looks smashing.. Only one question remains.. Release date.. #Kalki2898AD (sic).”

After Prabhas’ first look poster from ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ dropped on July 19, the makers released the film’s teaser on July 20 at SDCC in the US. “When the World is taken over by Darkness, a Hero Rises,” it says in the video. The teaser of Kalki 2898AD shows Prahas, Deepika and others ruled by dark forces and technology. The video shows the lines, “When the world is taken over by darkness, a force will arise. The end begins now.”


‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is written and directed by Nag Ashwin of Mahanati fame. The sci-fi film was announced on Vyjayanthi Movies’s 50th anniversary. The film is produced on a massive budget of Rs 600 crore, making it the most expensive Indian movie ever. ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ will release in theatres on January 12, 2024.
