Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi’s Merry Christmas to Release a Week Early
Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi’s highly anticipated film, Merry Christmas, was originally scheduled to release on December 15. However, the makers have decided to release it a week earlier to avoid a clash with Sidharth Malhotra’s action film, Yodha. According to film trade expert Taran Adarsh, Merry Christmas will now hit the theaters on December 8. This announcement was followed by Karan Johar’s Instagram post, revealing that Yodha has also been preponed to December 8, resulting in a box office clash between the two big releases.
Animal Gets a Head Start at the Box Office
While Merry Christmas and Yodha battle it out at the box office, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal will have a head start. The film is set to release on December 1, giving it some time to establish and gather momentum.
Merry Christmas: A Multilingual Film
Merry Christmas, directed by Sriram Raghavan, is a unique project as it is shot in both Hindi and Tamil languages. The film stars Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles, with different supporting actors in each version. The Hindi version features Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, and Tinnu Anand, while the Tamil version includes Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, and Rajesh Williams.

Karan Johar’s Displeasure with Clashing Release Dates
Earlier this year, Karan Johar expressed his displeasure with the clash between Merry Christmas and Yodha. He criticized the practice of announcing release dates without prior communication, emphasizing the need for unity in the film industry during challenging times. Johar’s comments came shortly after the initial announcement of Merry Christmas’s release on December 15.
About Yodha and Animal
Yodha, starring Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani, and Raashii Khanna, is an action-packed entertainer that promises to be a one-of-a-kind film. On the other hand, Animal features Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol. Animal is Ranbir’s second release of the year, following Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, and Sandeep’s second Bollywood film after Kabir Singh.
