Google Sheds Light on the Pixel 8 Pro Ahead of October Launch

Google has officially confirmed the launch date for the highly anticipated Pixel 8 series, set to debut on October 4. As the unveiling draws near, almost official details have emerged regarding the elder sibling of the series, the Pixel 8 Pro. These details provide insights into the smartphone’s design, potential color options, and some intriguing features.

Confirmed Design

On Google’s Pixel Phone Simulator website, a set of 3D renders showcasing the Pixel 8 Pro has been posted, offering a clear glimpse into the device’s design. These images validate the design leaks that have been circulating in recent times.

The Pixel 8 Pro exhibits rounded edges, departing from the flat-edged design of its predecessor. The rear camera setup remains consistent with that of the Pixel 7 series. On the front, the phone features a center-positioned punch-hole camera with notably slim bezels, although not entirely bezel-less.

Additionally, it has been disclosed that the Pixel 8 Pro will be available in three distinct color options: Sky, Porcelain, and Licorice.

Notable Features

The images on the simulator also reveal the presence of a SIM card tray, contradicting earlier rumors of Google opting for an eSIM-only approach. However, what stands out the most is the likely inclusion of a body temperature sensor situated on the back panel, adjacent to the camera strip and below the flash. This feature has been the subject of speculation for some time and is expected to allow users to record their body temperature by bringing the phone close to their forehead.

Performance and Specifications

The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are rumored to be equipped with the Tensor G3 chipset, promising significant improvements in both performance and camera capabilities. The devices are expected to offer a 6.17-inch display for the Pixel 8 and a larger 6.7-inch display for the Pixel 8 Pro. Storage options may go up to an impressive 512GB, and users can anticipate various other upgrades.

As the Pixel 8 series launch date draws closer, tech enthusiasts and smartphone aficionados eagerly await more substantial details about these devices.
