Introducing Ring One: A Smart Ring with Advanced Health Tracking and On-the-Go Payments

Tech start-up Muse Wearables has developed an innovative smart ring called Ring One. This smart ring offers a range of features, including advanced health tracking, contactless payments, and cuff-less blood pressure measurements. The Ring One is scheduled for a global launch on September 27, 2023, with its release in India planned for October 25, 2023. Muse Wearables has partnered with contract manufacturers in Chennai to set up manufacturing lines for the Ring One, which is currently in production.

Innovative Features

The chief technology officer of Muse Wearables, George Francis, explains that Ring One has the ability to measure six vital signs: heart rate, blood oxygen, temperature, respiratory rate, heart rate variability, and blood pressure. This comprehensive health tracking capability sets the Ring One apart from other wearable devices.

Achievement of Muse Wearables

Muse Wearables was founded by graduates of prestigious Indian institutes, including IIT-Madras and NIT Warangal. This tech start-up, based in Bengaluru, has its registered offices in Chennai, Singapore, and the United States. Born out of the incubation cell at IIT-Madras, Muse Wearables is making significant strides in the technology and healthcare sectors.

Production and Manufacturing

The manufacturing process for Ring One involves collaboration with contract manufacturers based in Chennai. While the sensor units are produced in the facility in Bengaluru, the final assembly takes place in Chennai. This strategic arrangement allows for efficient production and quality control.

Partnerships and Global Expansion

Muse Wearables has partnered with major payment networks, including Mastercard, VISA, and Rupay, to enable contactless payments using the Ring One. The start-up plans to enable payments in various countries, including India, USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, Singapore, and UAE. This global expansion will make the Ring One a versatile and convenient accessory for users worldwide.

Funding and Future Plans

With an investment of over ₹3 crore in technology and human resources, Muse Wearables is now seeking a Series-A funding round. The founders aim to raise USD 8-10 million to support product development, market expansion, and further innovation in the wearable technology space.
